Dates for Lok Sabha 2019 Elections Announced: Polls starts from April 11, Counting on May 23

The Election Commission of India today declared that the Lok Sabha election will be taking place in 7 phases. As the dates for the elections to 17th Lok Sabha announced, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora said that the Model Code of Conduct has come into force. The elections will start on April 11, 2019 and continue till May 19, 2019. The counting will be held on May 23, 2019. Nearly 90 crore voters will be eligible to vote this year for 543 Lok Sabha constituencies across the country.
